Our beloved daughter Kira, typically a compassionate and driven honours student with a passion for animals and paramedicine, has fallen into crisis and requires immediate assistance. Her normally kind-hearted and determined nature, coupled with ambitions to make a positive impact in the world, are now overshadowed by urgent needs for support.

My wife, who is battling cancer (click here to support), and I are facing these challenges together.

Unfortunately, in her desire for independence and too experience the world , our daughter fell victim to grooming. She was manipulated sexually and financially, leading her to be brainwashed into distancing herself from family and friends.

You might wonder how anyone could fall for such behaviour and deception.

Predators prey on individuals like our daughter by building trust and rapport, exploiting their vulnerabilities. They understand how to manipulate their victims, leveraging power dynamics within relationships. Through tactics like love bombing, they create a dependency that gradually led our daughter into using drugs and alcohol, and falling victim to crystal meth. The toll on her mind and body is devastating, The heartbreak and despair this has placed on her family and friends is ongoing as we try to help her break free from this cycle she desperately wants to escape.

The mental anguish is so incredibly hard for us, imagine how difficult it must be for our daughter. We raised her to be strong, determined, and respectful of herself. However, she is trapped in a vicious cycle that has led to bipolar disorder and severe mental health issues. She urgently needs help with her addictions and her psychological well-being.

The public health system is failing to provide the support our daughter needs. We’ve tried everything, and our last resort is paying for private rehab. This has placed a tremendous emotional and financial strain on us as we battle cancer while trying to save our daughter’s life.

Suicide is a genuine concern as our daughter struggles with bipolar disorder and psychotic episodes, exacerbated by drug use when she skips her medication. She has expressed that she cannot overcome this alone and is desperate to get clean and live a healthy life.

Our Daughter’s Journey Starts Here

Our daughter has realised that she needs help, which is a significant blessing on this journey. Without her desire for assistance, any efforts would be in vain, wasting valuable energy and resources.

Our daughter is seeking rehabilitation for her substance abuse and mental health. She aspires to return to university to study neuroscience, psychology, or continue in paramedicine, with the hope of saving lives in return for her own being saved. She also is now considering (due to her experiences) of pursuing a career in rehabilitation or counselling, helping others on their journeys.

We are seeking your assistance through donations to help in paying for our daughter’s rehabilitation. While we can cover some costs, private rehab is extremely expensive. However, its success rates are significantly higher than the underfunded public health options, which are overwhelmed and have long wait times. She needs help now, and private rehabilitation offers the best chance for her recovery.

My wife and I are seeking to raise $35,000 for our daughter’s journey to fight for her life. This involves an intensive 6-12-month residential program. The clinic specialises in treating substance abuse and includes tailored trauma counselling. Our daughter has endured years of psychological and physical abuse, necessitating extensive counselling. While her bipolar is manageable with medication, the psychological trauma she’s endured is overwhelming.

This is our daughter, and we humbly seek your assistance.
